Utah~day 2
**blogger wouldn't let me reply comments for some reason.. so.. the books are a couple of swami prabupadha's books on self-realization. Know of any good books about anything? Recommend them here:)
So, we moved into our place yesterday.
It's so much more than we need lol.. we are basically in the basement of this awesome house which is surrounded by the hill/cliff things (my brother doesn't know what they're called either lol)
The house looks like a barn on the outside.. the basement has a bedroom with a twin bed + 2 closets+desk+stereo+other shelving, a living room with a wall of built in cabinetry+a couch+tv-vcr-dvd player, a pantry where we have a hot plate+microwave+toaster+coffee maker+mini-fridge, & a sauna lol...... told yaaa!!..... so much more than we need... I'm getting a little too comfortable here...
although it was pretty cold last night ..using the heating tonight (=P. We've been using the sauna as our warming up and eating area... my brother sleeps in his sleeping bag in the sauna.. i'm in the bedroom.. we're gonna switch half way through the stay.
Yesterday, after my last entry I had some time to explore a little more and came across an art shop :))
well, I asked them if they're hiring.. they're not =P but, they said that if they decide to go out of town they may call for me to look after the store for them. I hope so... I'll take what I can get.
The library has nothing for me.. the book store will take my resume and app, but I'm not too sure they're interested.. it's a family business.
Oh yeah, the art/framing store is run by an older couple. The wife works at a lumber shop and is an artist and the husband makes his living off of framing. They have a little art gallery. The wife told me to call her some time and she'll show me the process by which she makes her pottery. :)
So, as of right now I don't have anything concrete... but, volunteering at the animal sanctuary is in progress.. I just got their reply and I've started the process of applying.
Lauren, your mix cd is a great listen in these parts~ thank you!
Today, my bro and I went out in search of some yard sales (he got a bike).. then hit the book store.. and, finally grocery shopping. Soo, we'll be eating a lot of mexican-ish and italian lol...
We do plan on hitting the local farmer's market next saturday:) apparently the prices are pretty good, but the early bird gets the good stuff. People apparently buy out the place early on.
So, after coming home I made some sauteed black beans, potatoes and rice burritos.. now, I'm just chilling in the bedroom.

...I'll start loading pics:)

Utah- day 1
I've reached Utah.
We stayed with my brother's boss at his home yesterday. They're a really nice family of 4 (wife, son and their dog=)) They were very hospitable.
They have a nice, quaint home facing a gorgeous.. I'll have to ask my brother for the technical name of the hill/cliff in front.of their home. I'll post pics later.
I'm sitting in the local library. It's like being in a corner of the adult department of the library back home. Pretty quiet town.. Still reminds me of home.. like suburbia in how it's quiet, yet alive.
I came to the library too early.. so, I went to check out (one of) the grocery store/s in town... across the street was this "Gear, Apparel, Books & Coffee" shop.. It's like a little aged-hippie hang out.. maybe yuppie ;) Anyway, I might ask them if they're hiring.
We'll see. Right now my list of places to apply include the library, grocery store & book store.
We apparently reached Utah a day early, so our housing wasn't ready... I'm going to go meet them at the house at 3.. It is12 right now.. maybe I'll go explore a little more. My brother and his boss have gone to work.
Well, I still plan on checking out the animal sanctuary, so that I can volunteer there. Also, my brother's place of internship accepts volunteers as well.. so, I might be helping some paleontologist out.. with digging out in the field, perhaps if I'm lucky.
My bro and I ended up taking loads of pics on the way up here, so I'll post them when I've settled in at the house.. we'll be living in the basement of the home, while a couple are renting the upstairs. It's really the guy's who's in charge of the birds at the animal sanctuary home. It looks like he's moving out, but I think I can connect to the sanctuary through him.. if I meet him.
Apparently they have some of the cleanest air and water (in the USA) up here.
I'm looking forward to detoxing, getting healthy, going hiking/camping, building strength and endurance, working, volunteering, painting, drawing, photography, studying hindi and meditating on where I am spiritually. I am in need of finding balance in all aspects of my life. Spiritually, I'm in limbo... & we'll see where I go from here on out. I brought a few spiritual books a friend recommended that I will read.
Anyway, I'm probably boring you ;-P.. lol
<3
p.s. my hair is growing out a little already! It's buzzish at this point.

New Mexico- day 1..ish
Aylo.
I'm not much of a 'blogger' through language or words as much as I am through visuals. But, just to keep you few who asked me to up to date.. I'll start one lol..
So, I spent 2 nights in Dallas.. then drove to Albuquerque yesterday. Reached here last night and stayed in a hotel called the Hotel of Blue.. I think.
My bro went to a sort of conference to meet his boss and listen to some talks at the convention center.
While he was/is there... I've been driving around getting gas and I found a neat little area near the local university.. beautiful place. I think the uni is UNM... I love the area... so tempted to transfer and move here =P
Well, my meter runs out in 10.. so I'm rushing this first entry.
But, when I get to Kanab, I'll blog more I guess.
I would take pics.. but, nowa days I would rather take in the experience a little more than focus on taking in the shots.. you know?
Anyway, we're planning on staying with my bro's boss tonight and heading out tomorrow.. 8hr drive to kanab.
It was about 13 hours to Alb.. stops included.
